The Spatial Web Foundation and IEEE

We have partnered with the Spatial Foundation to usher in the next paradigm of internet evolution.

The Web of Everything

Exponential technologies like AI, IoT, and autonomous systems are setting the stage for a new web to leap out from behind our screens and integrate seamlessly into the physical world.

The “Spatial Web” connects more than just information—it links physical spaces, devices, people, and AI agents through a common standard.

Any device—whether a phone, sensor, or autonomous vehicle—can instantly share data, knowledge, and skills. This real-time universal network enables businesses, individuals, and communities to grow smarter together.

The Spatial Web Standard

For the Spatial Web to reach its full potential, new standards are imperative to ensure that the diverse systems, devices, and environments connected through this network can seamlessly communicate and collaborate.

Without a common language, the web of everything remains fragmented, inefficient, and vulnerable.

That’s why the development of universal socio-technical standards is critical to ensuring that the Spatial Web delivers on its promise of security, interoperability, and collective intelligence.

The Spatial Web Foundation and the IEEE

The Spatial Web Foundation (SWF) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) are collaborating on the development of socio-technical standards.

In the summer of 2024, the IEEE Working Group approved these global standards for AI, IoT, and robotic interoperability and governance.

Recognized by the IEEE as a public imperative, these standards are not mere upgrades; they are a complete reconstruction of the web’s foundational principles, ensuring that the Spatial Web serves humanity in a way that is safe, just, and equitable.

The Spatial Web Foundation and the IEEE

The Spatial Web isn’t owned by any one company or platform; it is designed to serve everyone equally.

Any technology using the Spatial Web standards works together seamlessly and safely.

When everything is connected, everything matters, which is why these standards ensure that every interaction, from the smallest data exchange to the most complex system integration, is secure and verified.

Be part of a brighter future where intelligence is everywhere, everything is connected, and everyone benefits. For more info, please see:

"Digital twins and the spatial web form a captivating alliance, merging the fields of data and imagination. Digital twins are exact virtual replicas of real-world objects or systems infused with real-time data and simulations, offering profound insights into their physical counterparts. On the other hand, the spatial web blurs the lines between the physical and digital worlds, creating an interconnected environment where virtual elements blend seamlessly with reality. As digital twins seamlessly merge with the spatial web, users are granted immersive and intuitive access to these virtual replicas, unlocking fascinating possibilities like remote monitoring, interactive simulations, and predictive analytics. This powerful fusion marks the dawn of a new era, reshaping how we understand and interact with our surroundings."
